Promethazine ni antihistamine aina ya phenothiazine ambayo hutumika wakati mwingine kama dawa ya kuzuia kutapika au kupunguza maumivu wakati wa uchungu. Kuna ripoti kuhusu kutokea kwa madhara kwa kichanga lakini tafiti za kuthibitisha zinatakiwa kufanyika. Kwa ujumla, matumizi ya dawa hii wakati wa ujauzito huonekana kuwa na hatari kidogo ya kusababisha madhaifu ya kiuumbaji kwa kichanga.
