COVID-19 Severity of Iliness Categories
Accurate classification of COVID-19 severity is essential for determining the appropriate level of care, guiding treatment decisions, predicting prognosis, and identifying patients who require hospitalization, intensive monitoring, or critical care. Disease severity should be assessed using a combination of clinical symptoms, physical examination, oxygenation status, laboratory findings, and imaging studies, and patients should be reassessed regularly as their condition may deteriorate rapidly.
