Kidney and urological disorders
In this session you will learn management of various kidney and urological disorders
Transplant Donor Evaluation
Transplant donor evaluation is a comprehensive process used to assess the suitability and safety of individuals who wish to donate a kidney, particularly living kidney donors. The primary goal is to protect the donor from unacceptable short-term and long-term health risks while ensuring the donated kidney provides optimal outcomes for the recipient.
Kidney Transplantation
Kidney transplantation is a form of kidney replacement therapy (KRT) in which a healthy kidney from a donor is surgically implanted into a recipient with irreversible kidney failure, replacing the function of the failed kidneys. It is considered the preferred long-term treatment option for suitable patients with end-stage kidney disease because it provides improved survival, better quality of life, and greater independence compared with long-term dialysis in appropriately selected candidates.
