Catatonia is a neuropsychiatric syndrome characterized by abnormalities of movement, behaviour, speech, and responsiveness. It is associated with several psychiatric disorders, particularly schizophrenia, severe depressive disorder, and bipolar disorder, but may also occur secondary to medical and neurological conditions.

Dementia is a chronic, progressive neurocognitive disorder characterized by a decline in one or more cognitive domains sufficient to interfere with independence in everyday functioning. It typically affects memory initially, with gradual progression to impair language (dysphasia), object recognition (agnosia), motor planning (apraxia), executive function, social cognition, and eventually personality and behaviour.

Cocaine is a strong stimulant most frequently used as a recreational drug. It is commonly snorted, inhaled as smoke, or dissolved and injected into a vein. Mental effects may include an intense feeling of happiness, sexual arousal, and loss of contact with reality, or agitation.

Alcohol Withdrawal Delirium, commonly known as Delirium Tremens (DTs), is a severe and life-threatening complication of alcohol withdrawal occurring after sudden reduction or cessation of prolonged heavy alcohol consumption. It represents the most serious manifestation of Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome.

For an individual with alcohol use disorder, abstinence from alcohol usually leads to withdraw symptoms.
