Hali ya uambukizaji wa VVU huwa juu kwa waathirika wenye idadi kubwa ya nakala za virusi kwenye damu. Idadi hii hupungua baada ya kuanzishiwa dawa za VVU ( ARV).


Kwa nini ndio?

Mtu aliyeanza kutumia dawa hivi karibuni baada ya kugundulika kuwa na maambukizi ya VVU anaweza kumwambukiza mtu mwingine kwa sababu mara nyingi idadi ya virusi kwenye damu huwa juu. Kuwa na nakala nyingi za virusi kwenye damu huongeza hatari ya kupata maambukizi kama michubuko itatokea wakati wa kujamiana. Hata hivyo, hatari ya maambukizi inaweza kupungua endapo maandalizi kabla ya ngono yatafanyika ili kupunguza michubuko na kutumia kondomu.



Kwa nini Hapana?

Mtu aliyeanza kutumia dawa na ametumia vema kwa angalau miezi sita anaweza kutomwambukizi mtu mwingine VVU kwa sababu ya kuwa na idadi ndogo ya nakala za virusi kwenye damu.


Dawa za ARV zenye mchanganyiko wa kundi la integrase inhibitor huwa na uwezo mkubwa wa kushusha idadi ya nakala za virusi, mfano wa dawa kwenye kundi hili ni;


  • Raltegravir (Isentress)

  • Dolutegravir (Tivicay)

  • Elvitegravir

  • Bictegravir
